Working with children and young people We at Chalkfoot believe that creativity and the arts are central to the personal development of children and young people. The company brings high quality theatre into primary and secondary schools as well as working with smaller groups of children and young people outside the school environment to create unique arts experiences. A theatre performance is a powerful emotional stimulus which can be used both to support the teaching of curriculum subjects and to encourage personal and social development. In addition to performances, past work has included schools residencies, ’play in a day’ projects and long-running programmes of work with individual schools and youth organisations designed to build confidence and self-esteem amongst vulnerable children.
